A Hustler with a Philanthropic Heart
Cashnip Kitty is our office cat here at GuRuStu. He enjoys people-watching through the front window on 3rd Street in the East Village District of downtown Tulsa, OK.
We adopted him from the Tulsa Animal Welfare Shelter when he was about six months old and named him Sir Whines a Lot because he whined so much. He would whine until you held him and as soon as you tried to begin working again, he would whine some more.
Well everything was pretty normal during his first two years here at the office. And then something very strange began to happen. Out of the blue, we began to find cash near the front door. No one could figure out why the money was there, that is until we tested a theory.
We discovered our little Sir Whines a Lot would snatch a dollar if it came through the door slot. Apparently some of the late night partiers walking up and down our street had been playing with him and lost their cash through the slot.
We tested our theory several times and each time he would snatch the cash. So we dubbed him CASHnip Kitty and decided to put his talents to work for a good cause, by donating his money to charity.
Now this fun "warning" sign hangs by the door:
Cashnip Kitty is a hustler with a philanthropic heart. He will snatch your money and donate it to the Tulsa Day Center for the Homeless. Cashnip Kitty says, “Slide a dollar through the slot and great blessings will follow”.
